worship and prayer
Intercessory Worship
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. — Revelations 5:8 (NKJV)
Harp and bowl—worship that carries intercession
Sound That Intercedes
Intercessory worship is worship that is fused with prayer and offered before God as incense. It is not merely singing to the Lord, but ministering to Him while carrying the burdens and petitions of the saints.
Revelation 5:8–10 (NKJV) reveals this heavenly pattern. The worshipers stand before the Lamb holding harps, representing worship and sound, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. The harp and the bowl together reveal a priestly ministry where sound and intercession function as one.
As the minstrel releases worship, prayer is carried within the sound, giving birth to a new song before the throne—one that has weight, agreement, and authority in heaven. This is worship that moves beyond expression and becomes intercession.
